London, UK, 22 January 2026 – Pharmacy2U, the UK’s leading online pharmacy and a portfolio company of G Square, has today taken its first step into the care home sector with the acquisition of Care Quality Pharmacy.

Founded in 2013, Care Quality Pharmacy is one of the largest care home pharmacies in England, providing prescription and NHS services to a wide range of independent and national care home groups, extra care services, and domiciliary care agencies.

It has grown steadily on the back of a commitment to service, helping care homes to manage competing priorities and deliver the highest quality of care to residents while maintaining regulatory compliance. Additional services include paper based and electronic MAR charts (eMAR), care planning integrations, eLearning as well as face-to-face training and support through compliance visits and audits.

Over the past decade, Care Quality Pharmacy has grown to become one of the UK’s largest care home pharmacy providers and the partner of choice for independent and national care home groups. The deal follows a number of recent acquisitions for Pharmacy2U, including Lloyds Direct, Lloyds Pharmacy Online Doctor, The PharmPet Co, and Medicines Management Solutions. Care home patients aged 65 and over with NHS prescriptions in England received an estimated 42 million items in 2024/25, at a cost of £410 million, according to the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA).
